Sharing the love at the 2026 Langhorne Creek Wine Show This year’s Multi-Color Corporation Langhorne Creek Wine Show has seen a fabulous sharing of awards across wine brands, big and small, at a time when everyone in the industry needs a little bit of love.
On Friday 1 May, Langhorne Creek grape growers and wineries, as well as trade, suppliers and representatives from local and state government agencies came together to celebrate the region. Once again, Langhorne Creek delivered a stunning, sunny autumn afternoon on the lush lawns of Bleasdale Vineyards. After winning the Giles Machinery Best Malbec trophy, the Bleasdale Reed Patch 2025 Single Vineyard Malbec also took home the the Multi-Color Corporation Champion Wine of Show, followed by Bleasdale being named the Vinpac Producer of the Year.
Recognising his longstanding contribution to the Langhorne Creek region and community, Watkins Wine vineyard manager Mark Evans was named the Peats Soil & Garden Supplies Grape Grower of the Year. Other awards saw a variety of producers acknowledged, with trophies going to the Bremerton 2025 Special Release Fiano; the W Salter & Son 2025 Pepperjack Grenache Rosé; the Wolf Blass 2024 Grey Label Cabernet Shiraz; the Lake Breeze Wines 2024 Cabernet Sauvignon; the Kimbolton 2021 The Rifleman Shiraz; the Lake Breeze 2025 Nero D’Avola; and the Lake Breeze Wines 2016 Arthur’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.
Chair of Judges Adam Walls (Wine Selectors) was joined by judges Alexandra Alavoine (Treasury Wine Estates) and wine communicator Samantha Payne, as well as associate judges Charlotte Hardy (Charlotte Dalton Wines) and Gonzalo Sanchez (Lloyd Brothers). In his first year as Chair, Adam was impressed by Langhorne Creek’s diversity. “The show was an insightful immersion into the region’s wines, with an impressively high standard of winemaking demonstrated across all classes,” Adam said. “The red categories revealed an encouraging trend toward fresher, more vibrant expressions, complemented by thoughtful and well-integrated oak usage.” “The alternative red and white classes further highlighted the region’s versatility, showcasing that its strengths extend well beyond the traditional stalwarts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz.” “The Malbec class was especially noteworthy.
The 20 wines presented demonstrated remarkable diversity in vineyard origin, clonal selection and house style, reinforcing the view that Langhorne Creek comfortably sits at the top of this variety’s totem pole.” Adam’s Chair of Judges trophy went to the Terrachroma Wines 2025 Long Shot Greco. “Not only was this wine aromatic and full of flavour, it also had textural weight and chew. The role of texture and mouthfeel in Australian white wine has become more considered of late, more discussed and celebrated. This wine perfectly captured our maturity in how we look at white wines,” Adam said.
